Symantec AntiVirus is free for UConn computers and faculty and staff can install it on one home machine.

Who can install Symantec AntiVirus software?

It is available to UConn students, faculty and staff for University owned and personal home computers. It is important to note that our contract with Symantec states that home use is limited to one install of the antivirus software.

Can I install Symantec AntiVirus on my home PC/Macintosh?

Yes, but home users are only allowed to install Symantec AntiVirus on one computer.

Does Symantec AntiVirus scan for spyware? How do I enable it?

Yes, version 10.1.0 for Windows will automatically have that feature enabled. The Macintosh version does not have this feature.
